This fall the Westmoreland County Historical Society (WCHS) will again open doors to the remarkable history of Westmoreland County during our annual Historic House Tour with two events.
Toast the Tour Friday evening, September 7 from 6 to 8 PM
Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres along with a private tour will be held at the c. 1830 Woodcrest Farm north of Greensburg.
Tickets for the Toast the Tour cocktail party are $65 and require advance purchase from the Historical Society. 724-532-1935 x215.
Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. a self-driving tour to five historic homes.
The Saturday tour features four houses designed by renowned local architect, Paul Amos Bartholomew and an extraordinary house – the core of which is 18th century log construction. It was added onto throughout the decades, resulting in a house that today is a showcase for antiques and collectibles.
Now in its 13th successful year, the tour has become a fall community favorite. The homes and lives of the people of Westmoreland County reflect the important role our county played in shaping the history of western Pennsylvania.
All ticket holders will receive a map with directions to each location and a keepsake booklet with historical information.
Advance sale tickets for the Saturday Tour are $25.
On tour day, tickets are $30 and may be purchased at Historic Hanna's Town Museum Shop.
