The Turbulent Decade: 1915 - 1925 (and Beyond)

Professor Eric Greisinger, Salem International University, will examine influential events of the decade. Professor Greisinger’s area of expertise is the early 20th Century. In addition to the flu pandemic, this decade encompassed World War I, the Russian Revolution, immigration, the beginnings of a Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. as well as a multitude of other world events. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Presentation at 11 AM and 6 PM in the Science Hall Theater on the Westmoreland County Community College Youngwood campus.

The 1918 influenza pandemic affected the entire world.  A yearlong program will recognize the upcoming 100th anniversary.  Throughout the month of October, there will be a speaker series at the WCCC on topics related to the pandemic, the spread of diseases, and current levels of preparedness in local communities.
