A 23-page report-bound copy of three articles from the Westmoreland History magazine that includes these titles:  “The Spanish Lady Visits Westmoreland County,” “The Spanish Lady Has Arrived – October 1918 in Westmoreland and Surrrounding Counties,” and “The Spanish Lady Departs: November 1918-March 1919.”   Author Thomas Soltis, Ph.D. has provided this study,  with meticulously-documented details, primary support documents, and period photographs, of the period from the fall of 1918 when the flu arrived and claimed its first victim – Mildred Sowash – through the peak and the uncertainty of the following weeks – and into the spring of 1919 when “The Spanish Lady” finally departed the area and entered into history.
