Get Involved

We love our volunteers!

We love our volunteers! Share your knowledge and skills with others and learn new ones, too. Apply to become a volunteer and help us grow our organization.

Do you authentically represent a person from the past or know a traditional skill? You may be able to serve as a reenactor at our events and programs at Historic Hanna’s Town. Let us know when you sign up to be an Education Volunteer.

Education Volunteer

Step back into the 18th century and volunteer as a tour guide at Historic Hanna’s Town. Tour guides take visitors on tours of the historic site, discussing a range of topics including the early history of Westmoreland County, the American Revolution, daily life in the late 18th century, and the rise, fall, and resurrection of Hanna’s Town. Tour guides will attend orientations and workshops to learn about historical topics and education techniques.

Shop Volunteer

If you like people and shopping, this is a good fit for you! Shop volunteers will be responsible for greeting and assisting visitors, selling admissions, and maintaining store merchandise in the Westmoreland History Education Center shop. Training on the Point of Sale system will be provided.  This is a year-round opportunity, but volunteers can set their own schedule.
