Celebrate the warmth and flavors of autumn at our Fall Tea. Join us for a charming day inspired by the traditions and seasonal tastes of fall.
Enjoy a beautifully prepared selection of savory and sweet treats served alongside freshly brewed tea, all in the welcoming atmosphere of the Steel House farmhouse at Historic Hanna’s Town. Gather with friends, slow down, and savor one of our favorite seasonal traditions.

Join archivist, historian and author Thomas White as he explores the history and cultural meaning behind some of our region’s early legends and supernatural tales. Hear the stories of Old Tom Fossit, Braddock’s Gold, and the legend of Oppaymolleah’s Curse. Encounter the ghosts who haunt the Old Quaker Church, the spirits of escaped slaves and a confederate soldier on Duquesne’s campus, and the spirits of the Depreciation Lands Museum. Learn the truth about the Witch of the Monongahela, Judge Reddick’s contest with the Devil, the area known as “The Dark Place”, and many other spooky tales.
A variety of books by Tom White will be available to purchase in our Museum Gift Shop.

About the Speaker:
Thomas White is the University Archivist and Curator of Special Collections at Duquesne University. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Duquesne’s History Department and an Adjunct Professor of History at La Roche University. White specializes in public history, folklore and the history of supernatural beliefs. He is the author of 11 books including The Witch of the Monongahela: Folk Magic in Early Western Pennsylvania, Legends and Lore of Western Pennsylvania, Haunted Roads of Western Pennsylvania, Supernatural Lore of Pennsylvania: Ghosts, Monsters and Miracles, Forgotten Tales of Pittsburgh, Ghosts of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and Witches of Pennsylvania: Occult History and Lore.

Antiques & Collectibles, a community tradition since 1974, provides excellent buying and selling opportunities for lovers of antiques and anyone seeking vintage items. Browse for bargains and support local history preservation. Proceeds from this event have been vital for the reconstruction of Historic Hanna’s Town. The quaint and historic setting hosts numerous vendors offering a variety of one-of-a-kind items covering a wide price range.Antiques and Collectibles is held the second Sunday of the month May through October. For 2026, these dates are May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13, and October 11.This event will be held rain or shine. Sorry, no pets are permitted; service animals only.ADMISSION: $5 per car.VENDORS: Vendors of antiques, folk art, historical crafts, and collectibles (please no flea market items) are welcome to set up for the day or weekend.
