Discover the history of the Civil War at an encampment and battle reenactment hosted at Historic Hanna’s Town.
Activities include:
- battle reenactments and artillery demonstrations
- officer and soldier encampments, including Invalid Corps
- up-close looks at Civil War cannons
- working telegraph and signal flags
- Civil War post office
- displays on the Sons of Union Veterans and Grand Army of the Republic
- meet leader of Union forces at Gettysburg, General George Meade
- presentations on women in the Civil War, the Zouave Light Infantry, and southern medicine
- music performed throughout the day by cigar box fiddle player
- Music of the Civil War concert by 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band (Saturday evening only)
Event includes admission to Penn’s Woods: Plenty for the Use of Man, new exhibit at the Westmoreland History Education Center.
ADMISSION: $10 for adults, $5 for children, free for 5 and under. Includes Saturday evening concert admission and valid for the whole weekend. No discounts applicable. Cash only.

Antiques & Collectibles, a community tradition since 1974, provides excellent buying and selling opportunities for lovers of antiques and anyone seeking vintage items. Browse for bargains and support local history preservation. Proceeds from this event have been vital for the reconstruction of Historic Hanna’s Town. The quaint and historic setting hosts numerous vendors offering a variety of one-of-a-kind items covering a wide price range.
Antiques and Collectibles is held the second Sunday of the month May through October. For 2024, these dates are May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, and October 13.
This event will be held rain or shine. Sorry, no pets are permitted; service animals only.
ADMISSION: $5 per car.
VENDORS: Vendors of antiques, folk art, historical crafts, and collectibles (please no flea market items) are welcome to set up for the day or weekend. Spaces are 28′ x 20′ and cost $40 per space, per show. Discounts are available if all shows are paid in advance by May 12. If you are interested in being a vendor, call 724-836-1800 x100.

Our annual signature event highlights the unique role Hanna’s Town played in Westmoreland County during the American Revolution. Join us for reenactments of actual court cases heard at Hanna’s Town between 1773 and 1786 along with militia encampments, living history demonstrations and displays, activities for children, live music and more.
Admission: $12 adults; $6 children; 5 & under free (usual discounts do not apply for this event). $30 Family Pass. CASH ONLY requested for admissions. Admission is good for both days.
In honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16th, the Family Pass will be offered at $20 instead of $30.
