Event Details

The exhibit tells the story of Westmoreland County’s history through the central themes of:
• Building a Home, Creating a Community;
• Westmoreland at Work;
• Sacrifice and Service.

It is a community-centered history, not a comprehensive linear history. Westmoreland County was established on February 26, 1773, and this exhibit celebrates its 250th anniversary. The 25 main objects are supplemented with images and related items to create a more complete understanding of how the 25 featured pieces tell a significant part of Westmoreland’s history. More than 30 historical societies, museums, and other organizations across the county have loaned objects and/or pictures for the exhibit.

Printed Scavenger Hunt encourages all ages to explore and learn!

Cost: Free for those less than 18 years old.
Free for Westmoreland Historical Society members.
$5 for others
