Frontier Family Days: Huzzah to America 250!

Revolution & Revelry at Hanna’s Town!
Saturday, 11 pm – 5 pm and Sunday, 11 pm – 4 pm

Historic Hanna’s Town will celebrate its iconic Frontier Family Days on August 15 & 16 and incorporate themes of Revelry and Revolution in honor of America 250!

A signature event at Historic Hanna’s Town that will bridge excitement and celebration for our nation’s 250th anniversary this year! Step back into history and explore life during the American Revolution on the Pennsylvania frontier. Be a witness to history and experience the liveliness of frontier court at Hanna’s Town. When court was in session, the town would come to life. As the American Revolution took hold of the nation, court was no exception to this dramatic change. There was “Revelry” mixed with “Revolution” and we want you to explore the town like it’s 1776. And keeping in with the spirit of Tavern life, local breweries will be set up to serve and sell!

So join us and step back in time to when Hanna’s Town served as the seat of government for Westmoreland County! This signature event with a new twist highlights the unique role Hanna’s Town played in Westmoreland County during the American Revolution. Join us for lively court reenactments, along with militia encampments, living history demonstrations and displays, vendors, sutlers, activities for children, live music, and more! 

Event highlights include:

• Frontier Court Reenactments, inspired by real cases that were held at Hanna’s Town!
• Proctor’s Militia: Interact with reenactors inspired by one of the first militias west of the Alleghenies.
• Learn from those who “live” Westmoreland County’s history – for fun!
