Event Details
Historic Hanna’s Town is proud to participate in the 21st annual March for Parks, coordinated by Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board. The annual March for Parks fundraiser will kick-off the festivities for a year of celebration with historic activities and surprises for the whole family!
Though the March benefits all our parks and trails, this year the celebrations are concentrated at one location – Twin Lakes Park, where the MFP began 21 years ago.
This year marks Westmoreland County’s 250th anniversary and to commemorate this occasion March for Parks would like to celebrate families who are from families who lived in, worked, and shaped our county’s history for 100 years or more. Some of these families may even date back to 1773 when Hanna’s Town became the seat of the newly formed Westmoreland County! Please come join in the fun, and support your county parks and trails while doing so. If you believe you are from one of the Heritage families, you will have an opportunity to share your family’s story if you like, and meet others from these families with deep roots. March for Parks will be held on Saturday March 25 at Twin Lakes Park.
On March 25, marchers can check-in at the Twin Lakes Park Nature Center starting at 8:00 am, turn in their donations, pick up a commemorative t-shirt, and participate in fun activities and games for all ages. There will be live entertainment, light food and refreshments, raffles, historical presentations, and more surprises! Stay tuned for more info!
Please register through the March for Parks website here and visit the March for Parks website for more details.
