We are preparing for an exciting holiday season at Historic Hanna’s Town! If you are looking to get ahead on your holiday shopping, learn about the history of Christmas, enjoy winter and holiday themed family activities before the New Year, and would like the chance to win a special dinner at Historic Hanna’s Town, take a look at our lineup of upcoming programs and events!
Win a Dinner at Historic Hanna’s Town (drawn December 4, dinner on December 14)
Win a dinner for 8 at Historic Hanna’s Town! An authentic 1700s-style dinner will be served on Tuesday, December 14, at 7 p.m., catered by Chef Bosco (Major Stokes). Pick up a raffle ticket from the museum shop at the Westmoreland History Education Center for $10.
Candlelight Open House – Thursday, November 4
Join us for this FREE after-hours event at Historic Hanna’s Town to kick off the holiday season. Enjoy shopping, sales, and sweets in the shop at the Westmoreland History Education Center, free admission to the exhibit, drinks, snacks, and the candlelit ambiance of Historic Hanna’s Town.

Museum Store Sunday – Sunday, November 28
The Westmoreland History Shop will be offering 20% off merchandise, including history-inspired books for adults and children, holiday and home décor, stocking stuffers, ornaments, vintage toys and games, jams and jellies, handmade ceramics, jewelry, artwork, and more.
Additionally, the day includes special children’s activities like crafts and tree decorating, sweets, and free admission to the exhibit gallery.

Three Centuries of Christmas – Saturday, December 4 & 11 (sold out)
Discover how American Christmas traditions changed over three centuries on this special holiday tour of Historic Hanna’s Town. Costumed guides lead you through buildings from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries adorned in period-correct decorations and share stories of Christmases past.
PLAN YOUR VISIT: Tours at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 & 11. Space is limited and advanced registration required. Please call 724-836-1800 x210 to register. $10 for Westmoreland Historical Society members, $12 for nonmembers.

A Local Santa’s Workshop – Sunday, December 5
Since 1983, Dean Helfer, Jr., of Ellsworth has kept alive the tradition of wooden toys, games, and puzzles with his “Made in the USA” company, Channel Craft. Join Dean for an informative talk, toy demonstrations, and giveaways.

Holiday Family Day – Wednesday, December 29
Join us at Historic Hanna’s Town for Holiday Family Day, a fun day of hands-on activities and crafts celebrating winter and the holiday season. All ages are welcome to enjoy a variety of activities, including winter crafts, holiday cookies, a history themed storytime featuring musical interludes performed by a violinist from the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra (at 1 p.m.), and more.
